As famine threatens Gaza, Yafa Relief's field kitchens, food parcels and bread distributions are turning your donations into daily meals for displaced families.
The silent crisis: hunger amid the ruins
While the bombing dominates the headlines, a quieter and equally deadly crisis is tightening its grip on Gaza: starvation. For thousands of displaced families, daily life is no longer only about staying safe from airstrikes. It is about finding enough food to survive the day.
With markets closed, supply chains shattered and prices soaring, basic nutrition has become almost impossible for the average family. Children go to bed hungry, and mothers skip meals so their little ones can eat.
From your donation to their table
At Yafa Relief, we refuse to let hunger win. Thanks to your support, our field kitchens are running at full capacity, providing a lifeline to people who have lost everything. Here is how your donations become food:
1. Daily hot meals
For a family living in a tent with no cooking gas or electricity, a hot meal is a luxury. Every day, our teams cook huge pots of rice, meat and vegetables and distribute them directly in displacement camps, so that children and elderly people get at least one warm, nutritious meal a day.
2. Emergency food parcels
For families who have some way to cook, we distribute food parcels with essentials such as flour, oil, lentils, beans and canned goods. Each parcel is designed to feed a family of five for a whole month, bringing a little security in uncertain times.
3. Fresh bread every morning
Bread is the staple of life. We partner with local bakeries that are still operating to distribute thousands of bundles of fresh bread every morning. It is a simple comfort, but one that keeps hope alive.
Why we need you now
The United Nations and humanitarian agencies have warned that famine is imminent, and the risk of malnutrition-related illness is rising, especially among children under five.
We have the logistics, the teams and the access to bring food to the most dangerous areas. What we need is the resources to buy it.
- $50 provides a family with a full food parcel.
- $100 gives 20 people a hot, nutritious meal.
- $500 sponsors a water truck to accompany our food distribution.
A call to conscience
Feeding the hungry is one of the noblest acts of charity. Whether you are making a general donation or giving Sadaqah or Zakat for Gaza, there is no deeper impact than saving a child from starvation.
Don't wait for the situation to get worse. Be the reason a child eats today. Donate a meal now.
